Training Force in South Africa is committed to equipping young professionals with the skills and experience needed to thrive in the workplace. Beyond formal training, the organisation emphasises practical, hands-on experience, helping learners translate knowledge into real-world success. Several recent stories illustrate the transformative impact of Training Force learnership programmes.
Keanen Moonsamy – From Learner to Mr Zoho
Keanen Moonsamy from Northcliff, Johannesburg, joined Training Force in 2022 for a Contact Centre Level 2 learnership. The programme focused on call centre skills, including client communication, phone etiquette, and foundational workplace practices. Although he wasn’t placed in a call centre role after the learnership, Keanen applied these skills immediately in his role as a System Administrator.
During his time at Training Force, he gained practical experience in system administration while working on the Uhub platform. This hands-on exposure allowed him to build strong technical expertise, which later extended to supporting the implementation of Zoho, a comprehensive cloud-based software suite designed for businesses. His dedication and skill development led to him becoming the ‘go-to’ person for Zoho within the organisation.
After completing his learnership, Keanen was offered a permanent role on 1 October 2023. Over the past two years, he has continued to develop his proficiency in Zoho, earning the nickname “Mr Zoho.” He now aspires to grow into a systems analyst or solutions architect role, contributing to digital transformation projects and improving business systems.
Mbali Simelane – A Journey of Determination and Growth
Mbali Simelane from Soweto joined a Training Force learnership programme in December 2017, whilst he was pursuing a Business Practice NQF 2 qualification. Initially working in the Training Force Call Centre, she overcame her shyness and learned to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Her dedication led to a promotion to Receptionist and later selected as one of six Project Administrators, providing another opportunity to demonstrate her skills.
Mbali’s career progressed steadily: she became a permanent employee in 2018, was promoted to Project Coordinator in 2021, Senior Coordinator in 2022, and Project Manager in 2023. Her journey has been transformative, giving her confidence, leadership skills, and a passion for learning and development.
Sibongile Mkatshwa – Building a Career Through Dedication
Sibongile Mkatshwa from Johannesburg began her career with Workforce in 2016 when she joined the organisation straight out of high school through a Contact Centre Learnership. Starting in the reception area, she gained valuable practical experience that laid a strong foundation for her professional growth. After completing the learnership, Sibongile was offered a permanent position as a receptionist.
Through dedication and consistent performance, she progressed to Office Administrator, then Senior Project Coordinator, and currently serves as a Project Manager. In this role, she leads initiatives and contributes directly to the success of organisational projects. Her journey has strengthened her resilience and commitment, and she continues to pursue her long-term passion for the education sector.
A Transformative Experience
The experiences of Keanen, Mbali, and Sibongile highlight the broader impact of Training Force learnerships. Beyond formal education, learners gain practical skills, professional confidence, and opportunities to grow within the organisation. For these individuals, the learnerships were not merely a stepping stone—they became a foundation for long-term personal and professional success.
Through initiatives like these, Training Force demonstrates that structured learning, combined with hands-on experience, can transform lives and careers, fostering a generation of skilled, motivated, and adaptable professionals.
