Award-Winning AI-Powered TVs Now Available in SA for FIFA World Cup Viewing in South African Living Rooms

The future of home entertainment lit up Berlin last week, where the Innovation For All (IFA) exhibition showcased cutting-edge RGB-MiniLED displays and laser cinema solutions from global leader in consumer electronics, Hisense. For South Africans, though, the real excitement lies in how these technologies will change the way millions of fans experience the game they love most: soccer.

According to the data provided by the Broadcast Research Council of South Africa, 16 million South Africans tuned in to watch the FIFA World Cup™ in 2022. The tournament remains the single biggest unifying television event in the country, and as Hisense enters its third consecutive sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup™, the brand is doubling down on bringing the stadium atmosphere into local South African living rooms with TVs designed for detail, brightness, and lifelike sound.

The headlining TV for next year’s FIFA World Cup™is Hisense’s 116-inch RGB-MiniLED UX TV, the world’s largest in its class. It delivers 8,000 nits of peak brightness, 100% BT.2020 colour gamut, and Dolby Vision 2 integration. It offers unparalleled picture quality. Paired with the 6.2.2 CineStage X Surround system co-engineered with Devialet and the Opéra de Paris, South Africans can expect Hisense SA to deliver screens to our local market that will offer a game-day immersion like we’ve never experienced before.

For those who prefer a projector setup, Hisense has introduced its TriChroma Laser Cinema L9Q (up to 200 inches) and C2 Ultra Mini Projector (up to 300 inches), both offering IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision support, both ideal for big-match gatherings.

Luna Nortjie, Deputy General Manager at Hisense SA, says the innovations are about more than technology, they’re about passion: “Soccer isn’t just a sport in South Africa, it froms part of our culture, rhythm, and shared heartbeat. South Africans have shown tremendous support for Bafana Bafana during the qualifying matches already. So when the FIFA World Cup™ kicks off in 2026, our mission is to make sure every South African home feels like the front row of the stadium. With our latest RGB-MiniLED and laser technologies, fans will see every blade of grass, hear every chant, and feel every moment as if they were there.”
