One year ago, we launched the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, a collaboration designed to help businesses harness the power of AI to address their most complex challenges. Since then, the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA has fuelled innovation, groundbreaking achievements and transformative customer success stories.
Together with NVIDIA, we’ve revolutionised AI adoption, helping organisations drive growth, enhance productivity and safeguard data, all within a secure, controlled environment. From agriculture and healthcare to retail and financial services, global businesses are unlocking the full potential of their data and AI capabilities through the Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA.
The South African Generative AI Roadmap 2025, published by World Wide Worx in association with Dell and Intel, indicates that GenAI adoption in the country has climbed from 45% of large enterprises in 2024 to 67% in 2025. This strongly positions more and more South African companies to join their global counterparts in the near future.
From a global perspective, one standout example of an organisation which has worked with Dell and NVIDIA to optimise the potential of its AI initiatives, with measurable business and competitive advantage, is the City of Amarillo in Texas, USA.
The City of Amarillo – Delivering accessibility through GenAI
In a city where 24% of the inhabitants do not speak English, there was an urgent need to provide residents with access to important information in their native languages. To bridge the language gap, Dell Professional Services consulted Assistant City Manager and CIO Rich Gagnon and his team on the creation of a GenAI digital assistant with the ability to communicate in multiple languages.
The City of Amarillo consequently became the first local government in the US to use GenAI on its website. Residents can now access information through Emma, the digital assistant that lives on the city’s website. The large language model brings more effective and efficient disbursement of important information for all residents, regardless of their native language.
Through this project, the City of Amarillo made strategic use of rich, high-quality data to leverage the power of GenAI, working closely with Dell Professional Services to align their business and IT priorities, and accelerate innovation. Dell PowerEdge servers were deployed to power the municipality’s innovation engine with technology solutions that help it innovate, adapt and grow.
The journey ahead
This is just a sample of the incredible work that’s been accomplished. We’ve also worked with other companies, like CoreWeave, Essen University Hospital and Samsung SDS, to establish IT foundations to support the most complex and ambitious AI workloads.
