Vertiv Sponsors CIO Africa Roadshow to Advance AI, Data and Cybersecurity Infrastructure Across East Africa

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, is supporting CIO Africa’s 2026 AI, Data & Cybersecurity Roadshow as the official sponsor, engaging technology leaders across East Africa on the infrastructure foundations required to scale AI securely and efficiently.

The initiative brings together CIOs, CISOs and IT decision-makers to examine the convergence of AI, data and cybersecurity—and the evolving power, cooling and digital infrastructure needed to support these technologies as organisations across the region accelerate AI adoption.

The 2026 Roadshow is already underway, with sessions held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Kigali, Rwanda, and upcoming events planned in Kampala, Uganda (4 June) and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (13 August).

A key contributor to the programme, Vertiv is sharing insights into how data centre infrastructure must evolve to support AI-driven workloads, particularly in emerging markets where edge computing, data sovereignty and local processing capabilities are becoming increasingly critical. George Munai, distributor manager for Vertiv, East Africa, will discuss these trends in the panel: “The AI Disruption Realities: What Does It Mean for Africa and the Region?”

Says Wojtek Piorko, managing director for Africa at Vertiv: “Across East Africa, we are seeing growing momentum around AI and digital transformation, but this must be matched by the right infrastructure foundations. Through this initiative, we are engaging directly with technology leaders on the practical realities of supporting AI workloads, from power and cooling requirements to deployment strategies, helping organisations build scalable and efficient infrastructure.”

The CIO Africa roadshow agenda also explores how organisations can balance innovation with risk, focusing on secure data practices, ethical AI deployment and the integration of advanced technologies into existing data centre facilities. By combining thought leadership with real-world use cases, the events aim to equip attendees with actionable strategies to navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape.
