Sandisk showcases NAND innovation for the era of AI inference at FMS 2026

At Future of Memory and Storage 2026 (FMS 26), Sandisk will showcase how NAND innovation is powering the next phase of AI infrastructure. As larger models, longer context windows, and agentic applications drive unprecedented demand for capacity, bandwidth, and power efficiency, memory and storage are increasingly critical to AI performance and deployment at scale. Sandisk is helping customers scale AI inference with advanced NAND technologies built to keep pace with the evolving needs of data centers, cloud environments, and AI-driven workloads.

“AI infrastructure has entered a new phase where the ability to store, move, and access data efficiently has become as important as compute itself,” said Khurram Ismail, chief product officer at Sandisk. “As inference workloads grow, customers need memory and storage technologies that can deliver ideal performance, capacity, and power efficiency without adding complexity. Building on decades of flash innovation, Sandisk is advancing next-generation NAND, and emerging technologies such as HBF™, to help advance the industry.”Sandisk’s technology innovations focus on AI workloads, including fast data lakes, model storage, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and KV cache workloads. At FMS, the company will demonstrate how HBF™ technology, next-generation NAND, and enterprise SSD technologies address the capacity, performance, and power efficiency demands of AI inference. Highlights at FMS 2026 include:

  • BiCS10 QLC NAND: Next-generation 3D NAND technology designed to improve density, performance, and power efficiency for AI, cloud, and datacenter storage.
  • AI Data Cycle framework: An updated version of Sandisk’s proprietary framework for mapping storage requirements across the AI lifecycle, from raw data archives and fast data lakes to training, inference and generated-content repositories.
  • HBF™ Technology:  HBF™ (High Bandwidth Flash), a new NAND-based memory technology engineered to help meet the evolving needs of AI inference at scale.
  • Enterprise SSDs: High-endurance configurations for KV cache workloads, future PCIe® Gen 6 technology and ultra-high-capacity E3.S designs enabled by reduced DRAM placement.

Sandisk will anchor its FMS 2026 presence with a keynote, “NAND: The Versatile & Scalable Foundation of the AI Era,” examining how high-context models and agentic workflows are reshaping the memory and storage hierarchy. As AI infrastructure bottlenecks expand beyond raw compute to include memory capacity, bandwidth, power efficiency, and token economics, Sandisk’s keynote will explore the importance of system-level optimization and NAND in enabling AI inference at scale. The keynote takes place Wednesday, August 5, at 11:40 a.m. PT in the Mission City Ballroom at the Santa Clara Convention Center and will feature Sandisk’s Jim Elliott, chief revenue officer; Khurram Ismail, chief product officer; and Alper Ilkbahar, chief technology officer.

Sandisk will also participate in “Breaking the Memory Wall with High Bandwidth Flash,” a panel with Google and SK hynix to discuss advancing the HBF™ technology, concept and ecosystem, and what it will take to make new memory approaches viable in real AI infrastructure. The panel takes place Thursday, August 6, at 9:45 a.m. PT in Ballroom D at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
