Canway (Pty) Ltd and Trident Steel Partner with Odin Education Launch Revolutionary AI Learning Companion in KwaZulu-Natal

Mbambangwe High School, Amanzimtoti, KZN — 5 August 2025 — Canway (Pty) and Trident Steel, in partnership with Odin Education, proudly launched their Social Investment Education Programme today at Mbambangwe High School. This innovative initiative is transforming education for South African learners, many from underprivileged backgrounds through cutting-edge digital learning tools and sustained community investment.

At the heart of the programme is Odin Education’s personalised learning companion, an interactive tool that tailors support to each learner’s progress, interests, and learning style. Already embraced by 93% of participating public school learners, it offers bespoke guidance rarely available in traditional classrooms.

The programme has achieved remarkable engagement, with 96% of learners actively using Odin’s Omang platform daily. Learners at Mbambangwe average over two hours of study each day, reflecting strong, positive learning habits fostered by the initiative.

Academic gains are notable: schools including Siphamandla (Gauteng), Mbambangwe (KZN), and Worcester (Western Cape) have seen subject mastery improve by up to 12%, with Mathematics emerging as the most popular subject.

The Future Industry Talent (FIT) Programme further equips learners with practical, market-ready skills. With 70% participation, students logged over 2,000 hours working on courses designed to prepare them for tomorrow’s workforce, by providing comprehensive exposure and interaction with technologies such as Computer Vision & Machine Learning (ML), Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), Human-Machine Collaboration and Coding for Cobots and Cyber Security.

Ajit Gopalakrishnan, Head of Odin Education, reflected on the programme’s impact and the role of its partners, stating: “Our success lies in more than statistics, it is in learners gaining confidence and ownership of their education. Thanks to the commitment of Canway (Pty) Ltd and Trident Steel, we are opening doors to new opportunities that empower young people to shape their futures.”

“We’re proud to support Odin Education in putting the power of learning directly into the hands of young South Africans,” says Bill Allan, Financial Director of Canway (Pty) Ltd. “Seeing learners engage with Odin’s revolutionary AI learning companion, many of whom would not otherwise have access to such resources reinforces why we believe initiatives like this are powerful drivers of social change. We’re proud to be part of a movement that’s expanding skills and creates lasting success for South Africa’s youth.”

Danie van Noordwyk, Senior Training Officer at Trident Steel, adds: “This initiative goes beyond corporate responsibility, it’s about investing in long-term change. Education opens doors to future careers and opportunities, and we’re committed to helping elevate that potential for every learner in the programme”.
