Let generative AI take the stress out of Valentine’s Day planning

Valentine’s Day is all about love, romance, and making memories, but planning the perfect date can be overwhelming. From finding the right words for a heartfelt message to organising a memorable evening, there’s a lot to consider.

TCL recommends some ways you can use artificial intelligence (AI) to create a special Valentine’s Day.

    1. Plan the perfect date experience

If your favourite restaurant is booked out for V-Day or you’re struggling to come up with creative ideas for your date, AI can help. You can use a generative AI app like Claude or ChatGPT to come up with some novel things to do based on your interests, location and budget. For example, you can ask the app: “Suggest low-budget, outdoor date ideas in Johannesburg.”

    1. Come up with the perfect gift

Wanting to find the perfect gift for your date, something a bit different to the usual choccies and flowers? Gen AI can generate some ideas in a flash. Type up a specific query to get some recommendations. Try something like: “My date is 25 years old, she loves cricket, reading, arts and crafts, and CrossFit, and has just bought her first flat. Suggest a gift with a budget of under R500.”

    1. Find the right words to express your feelings

We wouldn’t suggest using AI as a replacement for crafting a personal message that puts your feelings into the perfect romantic words. However, you can use Claude or ChatGPT to proof-read your love notes, suggest some starting points if you’re stuck for words, or recommend improvements to your writing.

    1. Create a romantic menu

Trying to come up with a menu for your vegan or keto date? Apps like Yummly and Tasty use algorithms to suggest recipes based on criteria such as ingredients, cuisine style and dietary requirements. Gen AI apps can also suggest recipes based on a text query. You could ask the app to suggest cocktail recipes or wine pairings based on your menu.

    1. Create a personalised card

AI-driven apps like Canva and Picsart can help you craft festive stunning greeting cards that will feel more personal than ones bought in the shops. These tools can help you discover your inner artist.

    1. Plan your music and movie playlist

Use music streaming apps like Spotify and YouTube Music to create AI-generated holiday playlists to set a romantic mood. Video apps like NetflixDisney+ and Amazon Prime Video, meanwhile, can offer AI recommendations for holiday movies and shows tailored to your viewing history. You can ask gen AI apps to come up with recommendations based on your taste as well.

    1. Enhance your dating profile

Still looking for that special someone? Ask generative AI to help you create a dating profile for the dating apps that has the right mix of authenticity and creativity. You could input your existing profile and ask for suggestions for improvement or ask for advice about how to create a profile that will attract the sort of partners you’d like to meet.

    1. Make memories

AI apps can help you capture your memories. Remini is an AI-powered photo enhancer for creating high-quality photos, while Lightroom offers intuitive AI-assisted tools, presets, filters, and advanced features that give you full control and pro results. CapCut gives you AI tools to edit and create stylish holiday videos or TikToks effortlessly. Apps like Valentine’s Day Photo Video Editor allow you to combine photos, messages, and music into a heartfelt video presentation.
