Local PropTech innovator achieves R4.8 Billion in sales in 2024, reshaping SA’s property development landscape

Consolidated data for 2024 from South African PropTech company Launchbase shows sales on the platform surpassing R4,8 billion in value. This is a seminal moment not only for the company but also for the country with world-leading, homegrown technology reshaping the South African property development landscape.

Sales data from Launchbase reveals remarkable achievements in new property development sales. The year saw new records reached, including 3 launch-day sellouts and over R310 million of sales in a single day.

Launchbase has rapidly expanded into the luxury property market, demonstrating its versatility across all investment tiers. In 2024, the platform facilitated its highest-value digital sale yet—a premium unit sold for R23.8 million—highlighting the growing demand for high-end properties in the digital space.

These results, achieved in partnership with major South African developers including the Berman Brothers Group, Quorum Holdings, V&A Waterfront, Vantage Properties, and Signatura, demonstrate the power of embracing new technology, and how creative, out-of-the-box thinking can be used to bolster property development sales.

The foundation of this success lies in two key elements: a creative marketing approach, which leverages human-centered values to craft compelling and effective digital campaigns, and proprietary ‘Blueprint’ software, designed to streamline and enhance the buying journey for investors.

“Our digital-first marketing approach, combined with our creative expertise, is driving faster, more impactful sales for property developers in South Africa. By leveraging PropTech to accelerate new developments, we are actively helping to meet the growing demand for residential property in key regions like the Cape. This, in turn, fuels job creation, stimulates new retail opportunities, and contributes to broader economic growth,” shares Dean Lederle, Co-Founder at Launchbase.

Launchbase is proud to be putting South Africa at the cutting edge of PropTech globally. As the country strives to accelerate economic growth to tackle unemployment, poverty, and inequality, Launchbase will continue to use homegrown technological innovation to support and reshape our globally attractive property market.
