Global, innovative, AI-driven, technology brand TECNO showcased a bold vision for the future of mobile technology at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, unveiling a range of breakthrough devices and technologies designed to redefine how users interact with smartphones and connected ecosystems.
Under the theme “Pioneering the Connection of Intelligence,” TECNO presented more than a dozen concept devices and advanced technologies that demonstrate how artificial intelligence, modular hardware, and creative imaging could shape the next generation of smart devices.

Reimagining the Smartphone with Modular Design
One of the standout concepts at the event was TECNO’s Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, an innovative approach to smartphone design that allows hardware modules to attach magnetically to a device.
This concept enables users to add or swap components such as cameras, batteries, or specialised lenses within minutes, providing greater flexibility and reducing the need to upgrade to an entirely new device when new features are desired.
Built on TECNO’s Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, the ecosystem currently features around ten high-performance modules, designed to meet users wherever they are in life and evolve alongside their shifting needs and surroundings. Whether capturing professional photography, gaming, communicating off-grid, or extending battery life, the modular system offers unmatched freedom to configure a personalised stack.

By introducing a modular ecosystem, TECNO is exploring a future where smartphones evolve with users’ needs – extending device longevity while enabling new levels of customisation and functionality.
Other Innovative Concept Technologies on Display
Aside from the Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, TECNO displayed over a dozen innovative concept devices and technologies. These included the following:
- POVA ecosystem including the POVA Metal (the world’s first full metal unibody 5G phone), the POVA Controller Slide, and POVA Earphone
- Edge-Side AIGC Preview Technology, in partnership with Arm, which is a customised Style Transfer Preview technology that uses algorithmic optimisation to resolve key barriers in generative AI including connectivity, latency, and compute intensity
- AI EINK, which leverages electronic ink, offering a paper-like visual experience with vibrancy and clarity. Through AI recognition, the device analyses colours captured by the camera and matches the back panel, with further personalisation available via a dedicated app.
- TECNO Slim 2 that pushes manufacturing boundaries with an ultra-thin body and 0.7mm ultra-narrow bezel, redefining visual immersion in compact devices
- POVA Neon – the first device to adopt ionized inert gas lighting technology in a smartphone form, creating a distinctive glowing effect
- Concept Design Suite that reimagines everyday tech with a bold design language themed “Music in Motion,” spanning a laptop, tablet, earbud, smartwatch, smart glasses and power bank
Expanding the AI Ecosystem
Artificial intelligence formed a central pillar of TECNO’s MWC showcase. The brand revealed an expanded AI-driven ecosystem designed to integrate smartphones, laptops, tablets, wearables, and other smart devices into a seamless intelligent experience.

TECNO also highlighted upgrades to its AI capabilities, including advancements in imaging, generative AI features, and an enhanced version of its Ella AI assistant, which is designed to provide smarter contextual support and improved everyday productivity.
These developments reflect TECNO’s commitment to “practical AI” – technology that is accessible, useful, and tailored to real-world needs.
New Devices Pushing the Boundaries of Mobile Creativity
Alongside concept technologies, TECNO introduced new smartphone innovations including the CAMON 50 Series, a lineup designed to elevate mobile imaging and AI-powered creativity.

Flagship models feature advanced camera systems with AI-enhanced photography tools that improve low-light performance, automatic scene optimisation, and powerful zoom capabilities for capturing professional-quality images directly from a smartphone.
The devices are also equipped with high-performance chipsets, large batteries, and high-refresh-rate displays, demonstrating TECNO’s continued push to deliver flagship-level experiences across global markets.
In addition, TECNO unveiled a partnership with iconic Italian brand, Tonino Lamborghini. Built on a shared belief in innovation, performance, and modern lifestyle expression, the partnership reflects a mutual ambition to redefine how technology and aesthetics combine into a thrilling experience. Featuring in the co-created line-up are Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS (MEGA MINI G1 Pro), and POVA Metal Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition.
A Vision for the Future of Connected Intelligence
TECNO’s presence at MWC 2026 underscored the brand’s broader vision for an intelligent and interconnected digital future. From modular smartphones to AI-driven creative tools and ecosystem devices, the technologies displayed highlight how the company is pushing the boundaries of mobile innovation.
By combining hardware experimentation with practical AI applications, TECNO is working to build a smarter, more adaptable mobile ecosystem – one designed to empower users with new ways to create, connect and explore the possibilities of technology.
