OPPO Unveils ColorOS 15 to Enhance Mobile Productivity and Creativity

17 December – OPPO has announced the rollout of ColorOS 15 in South Africa, an advanced operating system designed to deliver AI capabilities and seamless integration with Google Gemini, enhancing mobile productivity and creativity.

South African users can experience this upgrade starting in December 2024, with the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G, OPPO Reno12 FS 5G, OPPO Reno12 FS and OPPO Reno12 F 5G among the first devices to receive the update. In 2025, the rollout will include the OPPO Find N2 Flip, OPPO Reno10 Pro+ 5G and OPPO Reno10 5G.

“ColorOS 15 introduces new features designed to enhance productivity and creativity for OPPO users”, according to Avashnee Moodley, Head of Marketing in South Africa.  “It reflects our commitment to providing technology that integrates seamlessly into everyday life”.

    AI-Driven Innovations with Google Gemini

At the core of ColorOS 15 is its powerful integration with Google Gemini 1.5 Pro and 1.5 Flash, which unlocks advanced language processing, task management, and search capabilities. These tools are tailored to enhance users’ work, communication, and interaction with their devices.

One of the standout features of ColorOS 15 is AI Recording Summary, which transforms lengthy voice recordings into concise, polished summaries. Whether for meetings, lectures, or brainstorming sessions, this feature ensures that users save time and effort without compromising on detail or accuracy. The system’s smart document editing capabilities allow users to easily refine and restructure their notes and documents, delivering professional results in seconds.

Introducing Circle to Search with Google

ColorOS 15 introduces Circle to Search with Google, a seamless new information access method. By long-pressing the home button or navigation bar, users can instantly search for content displayed on their screen, eliminating the need to navigate between apps or copy-paste text. This feature makes everyday tasks convenient and ensures users can access relevant information whenever needed.

The inclusion of the Google Gemini app further enhances the operating system’s capabilities. Gemini is an intelligent AI assistant that helps users with writing, planning, and problem-solving. It also supports real-time collaboration, allowing users to brainstorm ideas, simplify complex topics, and even rehearse presentations with immediate feedback.

    Improved Performance and Privacy Features

ColorOS 15 also prioritises enhanced privacy features, ensuring sensitive data remains secure. The AI Performance Booster optimises system resources, enabling smoother multitasking and faster response times. Users can also personalise their home screen and notification settings, creating a more customised and seamless experience. These enhancements reinforce OPPO’s commitment to providing a user-friendly and secure mobile environment.

    A Commitment to Innovation

The introduction of ColorOS 15 highlights OPPO’s dedication to bringing users the latest technology. The operating system is designed to provide a smarter, faster, and more personalised experience, ensuring that OPPO devices remain at the forefront of innovation.

Moodley concluded, “With ColorOS 15, we’ve focused on delivering meaningful enhancements that make everyday tasks easier and more efficient for our users. It’s all about creating a user experience that is both intuitive and supportive of their needs.”
