Against this backdrop, Dell Technologies closed the first quarter of 2026 as the world’s No. 1 external enterprise storage vendor, with a 31.2% market share and 40.8% year-on-year growth, according to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Enterprise Storage Systems Tracker. The broader enterprise storage market grew 22.7% during the same period.
For South African businesses, the significance goes beyond the ranking itself.
